International Award for Excellence in Consulting

History

Launched in 2011, the Gabriel Al-Salem International Award for Excellence in Consulting brings together leaders in management consulting to celebrate their innovative and socially responsible work.

The Award is for professional consultants, whose work results in tangible improvements in the performance of client companies and significantly contributes to the promotion of high professional standards and best practices in consulting. We welcome projects supporting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing global challenges for better and more sustainable future for all.

Eligibility

Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation’s Award accepts applications from individual consultants, consulting teams, or consulting enterprises anywhere in the world. We encourage and prioritize applications from low to medium income countries.

To be considered for the Award you are required to complete the online application on the impact and innovation of a project that you or your consulting company has accomplished.  Alternatively, you can apply by sending your application package to This email address is being protected from spambots. Consultants may submit up to 3 projects for consideration. The projects must have been completed within the past 3 years.

Current deadline for submitting applications is October 1.

Winners’ announcements will be made on February 1, 2024.

There is no application processing fee.  However, we ask you to please consider a donation to the Foundation to cover the costs of administering the Award and reviewing your application. The suggested donation amount is USD 100. It can be paid here. 

International Award Committee

The International Award for Excellence in Consulting Committee is an honorary board of management consulting, business and research leaders and executives from an array of expertise, who collectively determine the Award winners.

Evaluation

We evaluate each application on a set of criteria which includes tangible results and performance impact on the client’s business or activities, as well as innovativeness, originality, and potential for the broader impact on the community, country, or the region.

The International Award Committee will give extra bonuses to projects, which include one or more of the following components:

1. Environmental responsibility, including initiatives aiming at reducing pollution and carbon footprint, sustainable use of natural resources, etc.;
2. Human rights responsibility, i.e., providing fair labor practices (e.g., equal pay for equal work), greater inclusion of youth, etc,;
3. Ethical social responsibility, including using fair trade practices, respect for the rule of law, etc.;
4. Philanthropic responsibility including things such as funding educational programs, supporting health initiatives, donating to causes, volunteering and supporting community improvement projects.

The Award Committee will select 3 to 5 deserving projects without assigning them specific placements.

Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation created the Award to celebrate consultants and organizations and spotlight their impactful work in the area of innovational and social responsibility.

Winners will be announced and recognized at the Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation’s virtual and in-person events and featured on the Foundation’s website and in social media channels.

Winners will receive:

• Custom engraved Award trophy and Certificate of Achievement;
• Two complimentary passes to Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation’s in-person or virtual conference /event and Gala dinner, where awards will be presented;
• Invitation to be a guest speaker at the monthly Consulting Without Borders - LIVE Perspectives’ show;
• Invitation to present the winning project at the Foundation’s annual February 1 conference;
• Feature on the winners’ page of the Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation’s website;
• Invitation to connect with other forward-thinking consultants and businesses through Gabriel Al-Salem Foundation’s social media channels, groups and in-person and online events;
• Special winners’ announcement and recognition at various partner websites and social media platforms.
